RGM project: a new pipeline for a unified gas price in France

Pau, to October 16, 2017

Work on the 61.8 km "Strengthening the Gascogne Midi pipeline (RGM)” from Lussagnet (Landes region) to Barran (Gers region) began with a start date for operations set in October 2018.

A dual vocation : national and European

TIGF, through the project "Strengthening the Gascogne Midi pipeline (RGM)”, is taking part in a national project to strengthen natural gas transmission infrastructures, amounting to an investment of 800 million euro, all of it in France.

RGM will allow the transport of quantities of gas from the TIGF area to the south-eastern part of France. This project is part of the implementation of the Trading Region France - TRF - which consists in permanently eliminating the price differentials on natural gas between the North and South of France by creating a single national market place as of 1 November 2018.

The TRF is fully in line with the European policy of integrating natural gas markets. Through its involvement in the development and operation of the TRF, TIGF has gained a new visibility with its customers, as well as national and European authorities.
