TIGF launches a public consultation for its gas interconnection project STEP

Pau, to November 21, 2017

Nine public meetings and a dedicated website for information and discussion from 21 November 2017 to 23 January 2018.

TIGF  (Transport et Infrastructures Gaz France), manager of the natural gas Transport Grid in south-western France, is planning to build an underground gas transmission pipeline of around 120 km in length, in the eastern part of the Aude (11) and Pyrénées-Orientales (66) departments, between now and 2022. In France, the pipeline would link the existing TIGF compression station in Barbaira (Aude) to the Spanish border in eastern Pyrénées-Orientales – its most easily accessible part. STEP is a European project developed in consultation with local regions and for their benefit. It will respect environmental, social and safety issues. The estimated cost of this gas interconnection between France and Spain is €290 million, with respect to the French part.
